Detectives Investigating Double Shooting
Tampa, FL January 8, 2007 -
12:30p.m.
At this time, detectives are still working to determine who are the victims and who are the suspects in
this case.
Steven Stearns W/M DOB: 1/27/81 3308 Iowa Avenue Tampa
Shane McLaughlin W/M DOB: 1/25/80 8501 Wood lake Drive Tampa
Joseph Charles Pupello W/M DOB:10/27/83 601 South Dale Mabry Tampa
Ackery H. Daniel B/M DOB: 11/04/77 5107 Clarise Court #D Tampa
Kevin James Hurley W/M DOB: 9/15/87 7307 Kissimmee Street Port Tampa
Two men in a black Chrysler 300 pulled into a driveway at 3608 West Tampa Circle
at 8:16 p.m. on 1/04/07. Moments later, three men in a blue Lincoln Towncar pulled up behind them and started a fight. The driver of the Chrysler, Joseph Pupello shot the two passengers from the Lincoln. Steven Stearns collapsed at the scene. Shane McLaughlin jumped back into the Lincoln and Ackery Daniel drove him to the hospital. Pupello fled the scene on foot. Kevin Hurley fled in the black 300 Chrysler. 20-30 minutes later, Pupello returned to the scene to speak with police. Detectives recovered the 45-caliber revolver that Pupello used in the shooting. Investigators are still interviewing all five men. At this time, charges are pending.
